In 2027, Chevy writes another chapter in the Silverado’s story. Chevy is set to release the next generation of their flagship truck before the end of the year, promising a brand-new look, cutting-edge technology, and more power than ever. While nearly everything about the Chevy 1500 gets an upgrade, the ethos remains the same. It will remain a square-jawed, do-it-all pickup that’s built to dominate Montana’s toughest job sites and trails. Below, we’ll preview everything we know about the new Chevy truck so far. 

2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 Engine Preview

Chevy is playing their cards close to the chest, but we do know what sort of engines to expect on the new Chevy Silverado. In 2027, the Chevy Silverado comes equipped with your choice of the four engine options below: 

• 2.7-liter four-cylinder
• 3.0-liter diesel
• 5.7-liter V-8
• 6.6-liter V-8

At the time of our research, Chevy has yet to release any horsepower or towing ratings, so we’ll update our site with those as we have them. We’re particularly excited to get our hands on the new V8 engines, as Chevy promises the V8S will make the most powerful Silverado ever. 2027 Silverado 1500 Interior and Technology

Early returns show a cab dominated by technology. The next-gen Silverado 1500 boasts over 60 inches of available screens, from the 12.2-inch driver information center to the optional 11.5-inch passenger display screen. In the center, a 16.3-inch display profiles as the headliner of the trio. The Silverado will also incorporate the Super Cruise driver-assistance platform, enabling hands-free towing. With billions of miles driven, Super Cruise remains the most advanced driver-assistance platform in the industry. As you progress up the trim levels, you’ll find that a panoramic sunroof comes standard on the High Country, though it’s also available on lower trim levels as an option. We’re excited to see the new multi-flex center console in action. At first glance, it looks like a standard center console, but it folds flat into a workspace, which helps make the Silverado a better choice if you’re using it on the go or generating quotes on the spot. 

Next-Gen Chevy Silverado 1500 Trim Levels

While dimensions have yet to be released, we expect the Chevy Silverado 1500 to come in several shapes and sizes, with the option to mix and match different cabs and beds. We expect to see the following seven trim levels in the first year of production:

• Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country
• Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss
• Chevy Silverado 1500 
• Chevy Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss
• Chevy Silverado 1500 Custom

If you’re after off-road capability, the ZR2 or Trail Boss are your best options, offering a more aggressive look courtesy of a two-inch lift and exclusive 35-inch MT tires. The High Country offers a little more charm, with real wood adorning the cabin, an exclusive grille, blacked-out badging, unique wheels, and plenty of additional features. 

2027 Chevy Silverado Release Date
